Rarity
Coins were produced in prodigious numbers in antiquity; an industrial production rendering them common. However, this might not always be true, some coins are very difficult to find or virtually unfindable. Sometimes the rarity is dictated by collector request. There follows a table with a summery of the grades of rarity and abbreviations used on our site for easy identification.
