WHO WE ARE
Always passionate about coins, Claudia Maresca graduated in Greco-Roman coinage at the Sapienza University of Rome with a first-class honours degree, her thesis covered Roman coinage at the time of transition from Republic to Empire, subsequently specialising in Classical Archaeology with a thesis on the denarii of Julius Caesar. She has participated in numerous archaeological excavations and published articles in collaboration with the University and the Superintendency responsible for monuments and artistic treasures in Rome. Claudia has collaborated with the English auction house Arsantiqva in the production of many catalogues, the most notable of which is the Serenissima Collection, an important work of several volumes concerning the medals of Venice. She gives particular attention to the aesthetic beauty of ancient coins which is reflected in the sections of the website written and paginated by her. Although specialised in cataloguing Roman Republican coins, her experience and collaboration with Moruzzi Numismatica over the last ten years has enabled her to research almost any type coin.
